I am very new to the game of blogging and have been a reader for years, but to be honest I was the type of guy who for a while couldn't tell the difference between a blog and a website. But I decided to take a swing at it and so here it is. My intention for creating a blog is to share my view on current and old films as well as thoughts on the current oscar race.
About myself:
I was born in NYC, but raised in Roslyn, Long Island and now live in Brooklyn where I have been for the past few years. I graduated from NYU Film School not too long ago. My passion since the longest I can remember has always been cinema. From acting to directing I love it all. So now I want to take a stab at Film Criticism or well I don't like that term. More like "Film Opinion" to me. Criticism suggests I have a problem with a film when I am more of the person who almost always enjoys watching a film rather than enjoy ripping it apart. I can be famous/infamous for liking too many films. But thats who I am and of course I'm not alone and don't mean to be cocky about being optimistic. Though I assure you there are films I actually dislike.
I have I call the perfect trifecta of films, which in other words are my 3 favorite films of all time. These are Cool Hand Luke, The Godfather, and Goodfellas. I know there are two gangster films here but its my favorite genre so it makes sense to show up more than one. Now I am still deciding on my first real piece. So until then stay tuned.....
